Hello and thank you for visiting my website!
My name is Michael Bryant, and I was born in the small town of Rothesay on the Isle of Bute, an island in the River Clyde.
I grew up in Greenock, a historic shipbuilding town with important links to Scotland's International Trade and a hugely important port for the City of Glasgow. I have also lived in Aberdeen, but I am now settled just outside Edinburgh where I have lived for the last eight years.
Growing up next to the River Clyde has definitely had a huge influence on my photography. I love to be around water which is why I find the coastlines of Scotland so influential and appealing to visit and shoot. I now spend many hours at absurd times of the day exploring the east coast of Scotland, a coastline just as rugged and beautiful as the west coast.
Greenock also overlooks the gateway to the high mountain ranges of the Scottish Highlands, so again my love of places such as Glen Coe, The Great Glen and Loch Ness was surely influenced by my views as a child.
Being able to capture individual special moments is what drives me as a photographer, all of the images you see here have some particular memory or resonance for me. I hope they appeal to you too, and the ongoing search to capture "that moment" is what really motivates me as a photographer.
I hope you see something you like, please don't hesitate to get in touch through the contact page if you have any questions or feedback. I am also available for wedding, event and commission work so please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at email@example.com to discuss a bespoke package.
